Obedience to Jesus Christ is the Highest Form Of Worship

Written by Minister MarcAlan

Obedience to Jesus Christ is the Highest Form Of Worship

Love is a choice. You have to choose to Love Jesus Christ enough to Obey Him.

John 14:15 15“If you love me, obey my commandments.

Being Obedient to the Word of God means putting your faith hope and love for Jesus Christ in action.  Jesus Christ Himself is the living Word of God and He is God.

John 1 1In the beginning the Word already existed The Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Obedience has always been the Highest form of Worship. That is why it was the disobedience of Adam and Eve in the garden that brought sin and death into the world. Christians have to practice what Jesus Christ preached. Reading The Bible, Prayer and Meditation are not the highest forms of worship. These are things you do to prepare your mind and heart and build your faith so you can make the choice to love Jesus and obey God. That is why in Joshua 1: 7-8 God said

7Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the instructions Moses gave you. Do not deviate from them, turning either to the right or to the left. Then you will be successful in everything you do. 8Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do.

Notice God said to study and meditate so you can be sure to obey..The purpose for studying and meditation is so that we can be prepared. But it is only after we obey the Lord that we prosper and succeed...  When you obey Jesus Christ you are displaying your love for God.  And when you love Jesus Christ you make the choice to obey God. Love and Obedience.  Jesus Christ told us to love and obey. The Apostles lived and preached the Message and life of Jesus Christ and they told the people to love and obey God.

In Matthew 7:21-24 Jesus Christ says.. 21 Not all people who sound religious are really godly.  They may refer to me as 'Lord,' but they still won't enter the Kingdom of Heaven. The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in Heaven.  22On Judgment day many will tell me, 'Lord, Lord, we prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name and performed many miracles in your name.' 23But I will reply, 'I never knew you. Go away; the things you did were unauthorized.' 24“Anyone who listens to my teaching and obeys me is wise, like a person who builds a house on solid rock.

Notice Jesus Christ did not say anyone who prays, meditates or reads the scriptures will enter into heaven. For the Pharisees, Sadducees  and Teachers of Religious law did all these things. However they did not obey God and they did not love or recognize Jesus as the Christ/ Messiah the Son of God. That is why Jesus said “The decisive issue is whether they obey my Father in Heaven.”

And in John 14: 23-24  23Jesus replied, “All who love me will do what I say. My Father will love them, and we will come and make our home with each of them. 24Anyone who doesn’t love me will not obey me. And remember, my words are not my own. What I am telling you is from the Father who sent me.

Even in the Old Testament Obedience was the Highest form of Worship In 1 Samuel 15: 22-23 God rejected Saul as King because Saul disobeyed His Commandments.  Starting with verse 22..

22But Samuel replied,“What is more pleasing to the LORD:your burnt offerings and sacrifices or your obedience to his voice? Listen! Obedience is better than sacrifice, and submission is better than offering the fat of rams. 23Rebellion is as sinful as witchcraft, and stubbornness as bad as worshiping idols. So because you have rejected the command of the LORD, he has rejected you as king.”

And here are a few more scriptures from the Apostles

Romans 1:5 Through Christ, God has given us the privilege and authority as apostles to tell Gentiles everywhere what God has done for them, so that they will believe and obey him, bringing glory to his name.

Romans 6:16 16Don’t you realize that you become the slave of whatever you choose to obey? You can be a slave to sin, which leads to death, or you can choose to obey God, which leads to righteous living.

2 Corinthians 10:5 5We destroy every proud obstacle that keeps people from knowing God. We capture their rebellious thoughts and teach them to obey Christ.

1 John 5: 2  2We know we love God’s children if we love God and obey his commandments.

2 John 1: 6 Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.

James 1:22 And remember it is a message to obey, not just to listen to. If you don't obey, you are only fooling yourself

Don't be deceived..Obedience to Jesus Christ is the highest form of Worship... A person can pray, meditate and read the Bible daily.  This does not mean that they will automatically obey God. That person still has to make the choice to love Jesus Christ enough to obey Him..

Then he said, "Anyone with ears to hear should listen and understand." Faith..Hope..Love
