Scripture

5 Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him and he will do this: 6 He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun.

5 Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him, and he will help you. 6 He will make your innocence as clear as the dawn, and the justice of your cause will shine like the noonday sun.

7 Be still in the presence of the Lord, and wait patiently for him to act. Don't worry about evil people who prosper or fret about their wicked schemes. 8 Stop your anger! Turn from your rage! Do not envy others, it only leads to harm. 9 For the wicked will be destroyed, but those who trust in the Lord will possess the land.

7 Be still in before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their wicked ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. 8 Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret, it leads only to evil. 9 For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

23 If the Lord delights in a man's way, he makes his steps firm; 24 though he stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his right hand.

23 The steps of the godly are directed by the Lord. He delights in every detail of their lives. 24 Though they stumble, they will not fall, for the Lord holds them up by the hand.

39 The salvation of the righteous comes from the Lord; he is their stronghold in time of trouble. 40 The Lord helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him.

39 The Lord saves the godly; he is their fortress in times of trouble. 40 The Lord helps them, rescuing them from the wicked. He saves them, and they find shelter in him.

39 But the salvation of the righteous is of the Lord; he is their strength in time of trouble. 40 And the Lord shall help them and deliver them; he shall deliver them from the wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.

The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.  Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down:  for the Lord upholdeth him with his hand.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall direct your paths.

Do not be wise in your own eyes;
Fear the Lord and depart from evil.
It will be health to your flesh,
And strength[c] to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your possessions,
And with the firstfruits of all your increase;
10 So your barns will be filled with plenty,
And your vats will overflow with new wine.
