I was delighted when my son invited me to participate on his F.H.L. Fruit of Life website! It is my prayer that God will give me a fresh anointing and a word of wisdom each week that will be a blessing to his people.
I truly love my Lord and savior Jesus Christ with all my heart and want to be used by him to save souls. God has placed a burning desire in my heart to reach out to hurting people; especially the youth. I try to share the love of Jesus where ever I go. For more than 30 years I have been active in church to include: singing in choirs, teaching Sunday school, vacation bible school, children’s church, and praise dancing. Although I enjoy church I realize that living this Christian life is more than attending church. Worshiping, studying Gods word, and trying to live my life each day in a way that is pleasing to him has continued to grow more and more important to me over the years. I know that praying for and sharing God’s word with others is what God wants me to do. At times God will place it on my heart to visit someone in need in their home to pray, share a scripture, testimony, or just to provide encouragement and support. There have been times when God has revealed a particular need to me in a vision or dream. In responding to God’s call I have felt the overwhelming presence of the holy spirit; which is the most confirming and satisfying feeling in the world to me. Living my life according to God’s word gives me purpose and contentment. I have learned the hard way that living my life outside of his will is not where I want to be.
For the past 18 years I have been employed at John A. Logan Community College in Carterville, Illinois as a full-time professor in the Early Childhood Education Program. I can truly say that I enjoy my job and consider it a blessing from God. Each semester I have the awesome responsibility to teach students who will become teachers of young children in public and private schools, child care centers, and family child care. I would love to hear from you. I welcome your comments and questions. That’s all for now; until we chat again hold on to faith, hope and love!
